Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan went to a police station and got a person, who was arrested, released from police custody . The person’s name is Arman Ali who was arrested during a rally of Hizb ut-Tahrir. I have seen a number of people clapping to this incident and they are cheering Asif for this.

Is this something good for the country? The simple answer is no. Complex answer is hell no. Asif just intervened in the administration of justice and abused his power as an advisor and a student leader for the SAD movement. You may say Arman Ali is a innocent person. I don’t have any comment on that. He may have been a innocent person, but at the end of the day he was in police custody and police should have take the decision whether to release him or charge him as it is their duty to decide. By intervening Asif just created a bad example.

I will compare the incident with the incident of Mostafa Asif Arnob who harassed a female student of Dhaka University. In that case the so called Tauhidi Janata forced the harassed girl to drop the charge. In both incidents a powerful figure intervenes in the administration of justice and derails the process. If Arman Ali or Mostafa Asif Arnob was innocent, they should have been released following the legal process.

I am not sure how many people in current Bangladesh can understand the point I made

Let’s discuss the issue of Mostafa Asif Arnob . Especially the post by S M Farhad of DU Shibir. He made a post (I have seen the screenshot) explaining what he had done to mitigate the issue and at the end of the post offered some lessons. The first lesson is Arnob’s approach and choice of words are of harassment and as such this cannot be justified. I have problems with this statement. In the context of the incident, where the girl was wearing traditional dress, is it ever ok to dictate to her what kind of dress she would wear or how she dressed? Why is Farhad not outright saying that the whole incident is wrong, not just the approach of Arnob?

Basically, Shibir is completely ok with the mindset of Arnob, but right now, because of the time i.e. more people is not aligned with them. They would do moral policing just like Tauhidi Janata if they had the chance (they already do this in a number of education institutions). Any people supporting them should clearly know this about them.

Nahid Islam has given two interview. The first one to Reuters and the second one is to AFP . After forming the party, I believe this is his first and second interview. The question is why he is not giving these interviews to any local news media. Why favoring the foreign media?

The same thing we find with Dr. Younus. He also favors foreign media.

After the July uprising, our leaders from the interim government and the SAD movement gave lots of interviews to foreign media and we found out lots of important news from foreign media. Just see the news related to holding the election.

Why? To me, they believe that who will rule Bangladesh is mostly determined outside Bangladesh. The foreign countries play a big role in determining who will govern Bangladesh. By giving interview to foreign media, in their mind, they are trying to shape the view of the foreign powers who will later allow them to rule Bangladesh or make their life easier.

The sad part is after July uprising this was supposed to be changed. But our leaders decided to follow the path shown by BAL regime. Or they does not have the balls to bring change.

For a while, this Tauhidi mob has been causing a lot of issues. However, you will see that the number of people in this mob is not very large. Essentially, it is just a small group of individuals who have created these situations. The interim government is unable to take any action against them. Our women are becoming less secure every day. My fear right now is for Pohela Boishakh. What kind of trouble will the Tauhidi Janata bring to the female attendees on Pohela Boishakh?
